The official ESRB numbers are in. In 2007, the percent of mature games released was cut in half from just two years prior. A reported 1,563 games were rated last year, and of those games, only 6% percent were of the mature rating. Does this mean that games have become more child-friendly? Well, the numbers don’t lie. It’s obvious that parents now have plenty of choices for games when buying for little Johnny or Sally, especially when ‘E’ rated games make up 59% of the market. Looks like that just another thing to add to the list of reasons why anti-gamers are wrong.
